In the US!!

We are almost home. We stayed overnight at Jim's sister's house in D.C. Jake was kind enough to wake us up at 3am. Now, it is 10:30am and he is napping. We plan to drive home when he wakes up. It was great to crash here and he was very sweet with his Aunt Diane, Uncle Chuck and Cousin Caroline.
He traveled really well! He slept some on the airplane and really liked to listen to the i-pod with Christmas music. He also spent a LOT of the plane ride playing with the movie remote and earphones. Of course we had a whole backpack of toys, but he likes electronics the best.
It was great to have about 4 hours in a Yotel in Amsterdam. That quieted him down as you can see in the picture. Both of the guys took a nap. :) "?

  1. Linda and Jim - It was an absolute delight to meet Jacob tonight! Joshua was especially pleased, after many months of asking "When, WHEN, will we meet Jacob?" Jacob strikes me as a bright and brave little boy! I am looking forward to many play dates and baby sitting gigs with our beautiful nephew!

Linda, the best part of tonight for me was watching you pick up your son and hold him - mother and child. God has blessed you many times over for the years of patience and persistence to get to this point in your life. Love you very much and congratulations!

  3. We really loved having you all at the house and getting to know Jake. I hope you all got a little more sleep last night! Caroline is really excited to have a new cousin, finally! Especially a younger (and shorter--for a while)one.
